Garden & Plant Nursery

Yorkshire in Bloom 2009 -- Gold Rose Award Winner
"A fascinating walk for the judges through many hidden gardens and is indeed a plantsman's paradise."

Cold Cotes' extensive garden, filled with birdsong and creative plantings, is at ease in its rural setting. With expansive views to the Hambleton Hills, it provides beautiful, tranquil and relaxing surroundings for you to explore during your visit.

There are a series of discrete gardens including formal areas around the house, a stream side walk and sweeping herbaceous borders inspired by designer Piet Oudolf. The garden is continually evolving, so there is always something new to see. Our newly developed wooded garden with wonderful spring and autumn colour gives the garden increasing year round interest.

Both the garden and nursery are open daily with light refreshments available on request. For groups of 15 or more we can provide lunch, tea or supper and an introductory talk about how the garden has been developed.

Nursery - We specialise in hardy, herbaceous perennials including many varieties of Astrantia, Hardy Geranium, Heuchera and Pulmonaria as well as plants that thrive in shady and damp environments - 2010 plant list (typical pricing of £4.50 for 2-litre pots, availability varies through the year)

August 29, 2010 is a highlight of our year when we host an open day as part of the National Gardens Scheme in support of local charities. Members of the Curiously Strong Art Group from Harrogate will be painting and drawing in the garden to add to the festivities.
