Cold Cotes' large peaceful garden with expansive views is at ease in its rural setting. It provides a wonderful relaxing place to explore for guests at Cold Cotes or for visitors who simply love gardens.

There are a series of discreet gardens including formal areas around the house, a streamside walk and sweeping herbaceous borders inspired by designer Piet Oudolf.

The garden is continually evolving, so there is always something new to see. Our newly developed wooded garden with wonderful autumn colour is in its first exciting year.

We welcome garden visits for groups of 10 or more by advance booking and can provide refreshments (pdf).

August 31, 2008 is a highlight of our year when we host an open day as part of the National Garden Scheme in support of local charities. Members of the Curiously Strong Art Group from Harrogate will be painting and drawing in the garden to add to the festivities.
